Homeschooler Aikido

There is an 8-student minimum in order for us to create daytime sessions (for the convenience of the homeschooler community). Daytime sessions are 2x a week, paid monthly, and can run Sept-Dec and Feb-May. Please email us if you would like to plan a daytime group class. (AikidoBismarck@gmail.com)

Youth Classes...

We offer a full Aikido curriculum for youth students (7-15 years old) including bokken and jo staff training. Under 7y and over 15y students are accepted in the youth program on a case-by-case-basis -- for taller teens, the adult class is encouraged. There are 3 general youth classes offered each week.

Beginners Youth training is 5:00pm to 6:00pm Tuesdays and Thursdays. The first half hour of this class is "Basic Essentials" and all new students should attend this class at least once a week.

All students may attend the "Basics" class for extra practice or training time, regardless of rank.

Beginners are also invited to general class on Saturdays at 10:30am to 11:30 am.

Beginner's Schedule:
Tue/Th 5-6pm, Sat 10:30am-11:30am.
Unlimited classes per week, minimum 2x a week is encouraged.

Intermediate (and advanced beginner) classes are 5:30pm to 6:30pm Tuesdays and Thursdays, also Saturdays at 10:30am to 11:30 am.
Unlimited classes per week, minimum 2x a week is encouraged.

Advanced Intermediate students (Yellow Belt +) also have a Monday class (5-6pm) available to them. Attendance to this class is important for students preparing to test for ranks of 5th kyu and above. Purple belt level students preparing for their yellow belt test are also invited to attend.

Youth Tuition...

Tuition is $70 per month and a sibling's discount is available. New students join for 2 months minimum and a lightweight gi is provided as part of the 2 months prepaid.

Parents are welcome to watch keiko (training) or may drop kids off for class. We generally need a few minutes after class to talk. Expect your child to be ready to go 10-15 minues after the end of class. Please let us know if you need to leave early, we are happy to accomodate your schedule.

These classes are designed for 7-14 year olds. Some younger children have done well in our program too, but it depends on the individual and their willingness to be calm and absorb the instruction that they are offered. We usually recommend children to be 8 years old or at least very near their 8 year birthday.
